How arevo works
It’s easy - we’ll have you on the road in no time.

When you first open the app, you’ll see a map. From there, you can:

  1. type where you want to go in the ‘Where to?’ search box
  2. pick the right address from the drop down, then tap ‘Route’
  3. you’ll see suggested public transport routes – choose one to see a breakdown of each step in the journey
  4. if you’d rather walk or drive, tap on that option at the top of the screen and we’ll redirect you to Google or Apple Maps to start your trip.
  5. if you’d rather ride your bike, tap on that option and we’ll direct you to our dedicated bike map. Select faster or quieter then follow the directions.
We do, but with a little help from our friends. We’ll seamlessly redirects you to Google or Apple Maps for turn-by-turn directions when you start your trip.
Good question. We also hook you up with stellar parking through our partner UbiPark. They’ve been with us since day dot to save you from driving 20 laps around Lygon Steet to find a car park.

You can also check petrol prices and get discounts through arevo. Those little gems are all thanks to arevo being owned by RACV.

Fuel Finder
The arevo fuel finder uses data reported from the fuel stations directly to display accurate pricing to app users.
Research we’ve conducted has shown that the average Victorian can save an average of 30.3c per litre* by using a fuel finder to find the cheapest fuel near them before they top up. This allows the average Victorian to save $299.05 per year by searching for cheaper fuel*.

*Fuel savings are based on average data and are not guaranteed. Actual savings will depend on purchase volume, market conditions and your individual circumstances.

The Fuel Finder pricing is updated by the fuel stations every 15 minutes* and are presented within the app.

*Price changes are reliant on voluntary reporting by the fuel station. Fuel providers are normally quite good at ensuring these prices are updated, however it is not mandatory, so is not always up to date with live prices.

Any user registered within the arevo app can scan the barcode within the app and save 4c off per litre at any participating EG Ampol fuel station. To make finding these stations even easier, participating stations have a blue tag on the Fuel Finder map within arevo.

You can read the full T&Cs around the the arevo fuel finder discount here.
The 4c per litre discount can be used once daily per user, refreshing at 11:59PM.
You can fill up as many litres in you like during your transaction. The first 150 litres per day will have the 4c discount applied. After 150 litres will be charged the normal rate without the 4c discount applied.
The 4c arevo discount can be stacked up to 12c per litre by using the discount alongside other compatible offers at EG Ampol Fuel Stations. Receive 4c per litre from arevo plus 4c per litre from Woolworths Rewards plus 4c per litre with an in-store purchase at the fuel station to stack your savings and save even more! View all the T&Cs here.
Not just yet! To claim your member benefit 5c off per litre you’ll need to visit the member benefits hub here.
Enable the Push notifications for the Arevo app on your device and ensure that notifications can be seen in the Notification centre on the phone.
A Fuel trend is detected when there is an upward or downward change in the fuel prices based on the last 3 days.
You can adjust the frequency which you receive fuel alerts through the settings in the app.
You can still receive alerts which notify you to the cheapest diesel in your area, but won't be able to receive trend alerts as the data is not available for diesel.
a. A Generic Fuel Trend is when an upward or downward change in fuel prices based on the last 3 days in Metro Melbourne. b. A Personalised Fuel Trend is when a trend is detected in Metro Melbourne and sent the user with the cheapest fuel in a fuel station near your selected location. c. A Personalised Daily Fuel Alert is the cheapest fuel price detected based on their fuel selected and location selection and sent at 11.15AM every day. d. The trends are only sent for the 4 petrol types (E10, U91, U95, U98). Fuel Trends are not available for any other fuel (Diesel, Prem Diesel, LPG).
a. A proper location may have not been selected. b. The location you may have selected is outside of Metro Melbourne. c. The stations which are present in the radius might not cater to the selected Fuel Type.
Public Transport
They sure are. Tap on any public transport icon to see live departure times from that stop or station, complete with any disruption alerts.

Once you’ve tapped on a public transport icon, our route planner will get you there. Simply tap on ‘Route’ to get directions.
You sure can. Tap on your bus stop, then tap on your bus number and you will see the next 20 services. This works for all public transport icons.
You bet. Simply tap on a public transport icon on the map to get a look at all the services coming through that train station, tram or bus stop. You’ll get live status updates for each departure.

Different coloured text indicates how the service is performing:
  • Red means it’s running late.
  • Black means it’s on time (or there’s no live data available).
  • Blue means it’s early.
If there are disruptions affecting your line, stop or station, you’ll see a warning icon Tap on it for details about the disruption. The same goes when you’re planning a trip!
Straight from the source. We use the Department of Transport’s data feed, which means as soon as they know about a delay or disruption, you’ll know too.

Bike riding
  1. Tap the ‘Bike’ tab to open the bike map and see the different routes available
  2. Type where you want to go in the ‘Where to?’ search box
  3. Pick the right address from the drop down, then tap ‘Route’
  4. Choose the faster or quieter route on the bike map
  5. Tap on the down arrow next to the approximate time for step-by-step instructions
The ‘quieter’ route is based on factors such as:
  • Presence of dedicated bike lanes, and whether these are simply painted on the road or physically separate from the road
  • Type of road (e.g. highway, residential street, bike path)
‘Faster’ route is primarily interested in getting you there in the least time, regardless of road type.
Each colour represents a different type of road or cycling path. We worked with councils and municipalities to bring this feature to life so you can suss out which route is best for your level of riding experience.

Blue: Off road shared path
These are shared paths for bikes and pedestrians that aren’t on roads. They’re usually found alongside rivers, creeks or train lines.

Green: Protected lane
These lanes are on roads. They have a physical barrier (usually made of concrete or plastic) to separate bikes from cars. You’ll also hear them referred to as ‘Copenhagen’ lanes. Very European.

Gold: Buffered bike lane or quiet back streets
Buffered lanes have two single white lines around 1m apart. They also have another painted strip along either white line for an additional .5m buffer to separate you from parked cars and motorways.

Quiet back streets are Council endorsed bike routes using low traffic and low speed roads, as an alternative to using arterial roads with higher traffic volumes and speeds. These segments comprising several streets have designated street signage and white bike symbols on road to assist bike riders in wayfinding.

Orange: Painted lane (Green or White)
These lanes have two single white lines around 1m apart. Sometimes, they’ll also have fancy green paint inside the lane to boost visibility.
Sure can. Coloured guides will indicate the type of bike path you’ll travel on so you can plan ahead and feel safe on your journey. Or, you can click on the quieter route after you have entered a destination on the bike map tab.
We are constantly working with councils to add more data to the map. If you’re a local council and want to work with us to include more cycle path and road data, send us a note at hello@arevo.com.au and we’ll be in touch.
